What it does

Agent Reach picks, installs and health-checks free tools that let your AI agent read the web. Out of the box it covers any web page, YouTube subtitles and search, RSS feeds, public GitHub repos and web search.

Platforms that need a login (Twitter/X, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and others) are optional. You ask the agent to set one up and it walks you through it. The main README is in Chinese; English, Japanese and Korean versions are linked from the repo.

Install it

  1. Open Claude Code (it also works with Cursor, Windsurf, OpenClaw and other agents that can run shell commands).
  2. Paste the prompt below. The agent reads the install guide at that link and does the rest.
  3. By default the installer only checks your system and lists what is missing. It installs system packages and writes config only if you allow it with `agent-reach install --system`.
  4. When it finishes, run `agent-reach doctor` to see which channels work and how to fix the ones that don't.

Use it

  1. Just ask in plain words, for example "what does this YouTube video cover" or "read this link for me". The agent knows which tool to call.
  2. To unlock a login platform, tell the agent "set up Twitter for me" (or Reddit, LinkedIn and so on) and follow its steps.
  3. To update later, paste: Update Agent Reach: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Panniantong/agent-reach/main/docs/update.md

Good to know

The README says all tools are open source and free. The only possible cost is a proxy (about $1/month) if you run it on a server; a local computer does not need one.

Cookies and tokens stay on your machine in ~/.agent-reach/config.yaml. Platforms used through cookies can detect scripted access and limit or ban the account, so the README recommends a separate secondary account, not your main one.

Do not install the package with the same name from PyPI; it is not this project. To remove everything, run `agent-reach uninstall`.
