What it does
free-for.dev lists online services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and more) that have a free tier for developers. It is built from pull requests and reviews by 1600+ people.
To be listed, a service must offer a free tier, not just a free trial, and a time-limited free tier must last at least a year. Self-hosted software is out of scope. Categories include Major Cloud Providers' always-free limits, Web Hosting, Email, Forms, Generative AI, Managed Data Services, DNS, Monitoring and many more.
How to use it
- Open the repo and use the Table of Contents to jump to a category, for example Web Hosting or Forms.
- Read each one-line entry. It usually states the free-tier limits, such as requests per month or storage.
- Click through to the service and confirm the current free plan on its own site, since offers change.
- Tell Claude which service you picked and ask it to wire it into your project.
Copy this
I want to <what you are building>. Here is the free service I picked from free-for.dev: <paste the link>. Check its docs, tell me what the free tier allows, and walk me through connecting it to my project.
Use it
- Use it before you pay for anything: search the page (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) for the thing you need, like "email" or "database".
- Compare two or three entries in the same category and ask Claude to help you choose based on your limits.
Good to know
The list is opinionated and aimed at infrastructure developers. Free tiers change or get retired, so treat each entry as a lead to check, not a guarantee.
