What it does
ECC gives Claude Code a set working process: plan, test, implement, review, verify, remember, improve. Instead of explaining that process in every prompt, you install it once.
It includes 68 specialist agents (planning, code review, build repair, security), 293 skills, 94 commands, hooks, memory and a security scanner called AgentShield. It works best with Claude Code and has limited adapters for other tools.
Install it
- Check you have Node.js 18 or newer, Git and Claude Code 2.1 or newer.
- Open your terminal (PowerShell on Windows) and run the guided setup below.
- For a typical personal setup, choose Global user, then Standard hooks, and confirm.
- Start a new Claude Code session and run /plugin list to check that ecc@ecc is enabled.
Guided setup
npx ecc-universal@2.2.3 setup
Or install from inside Claude Code
/plugin marketplace add https://github.com/affaan-m/ECC /plugin install ecc@ecc
Use it
- Building a feature: type /ecc:plan "describe the feature", then use the tdd-workflow skill.
- Reviewing code you just wrote: type /code-review.
- Fixing a broken build: type /build-fix.
- Ending a long session: type /save-session, and /resume-session when you come back.
Good to know
Pick one install method only. Installing ECC twice into Claude Code can duplicate skills, commands and hooks. The README has a Reset / Uninstall section if that happens.
Only install from the official GitHub repo and the ecc-universal npm package. The open-source project is free. ECC Pro, a hosted GitHub App for private repos, starts at $19 per seat per month.
