What it does
herdr is a terminal workspace for coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode. You split the window into panes, run an agent in each, and herdr marks every pane as working, blocked or idle so you can spot the one waiting for an answer.
Close the window or lose your SSH connection and the terminals keep running in the background. Type herdr again to pick up where you left off.
Install it
- On Mac or Linux, paste the install command below into your terminal.
- Or use Homebrew instead: brew install herdr.
- On Windows, use the PowerShell command in the second block.
Mac or Linux
curl -fsSL https://herdr.dev/install.sh | sh
Windows
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -c "irm https://herdr.dev/install.ps1 | iex"
Use it
- Go to your project folder and type herdr.
- Run your agents and split panes.
- Press ctrl+b then q to detach. Type herdr to reattach.
