What it does

Presenton generates presentations from a prompt, an uploaded document, or your own PowerPoint design, then lets you edit them with a drag-edit interface and export a fully editable .pptx or PDF.

It is open-source and works with many AI providers (Ollama, LM Studio, OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic and other OpenAI-compatible providers), so you bring your own model and key. It also offers a presentation-generation API.

Install it (easiest)

  1. Go to presenton.ai/download and get the desktop app for your system (macOS, Windows or Linux).
  2. Open it and choose your AI provider, adding your API key, or point it at a local model like Ollama.
  3. Create a deck from a prompt, a document, or your own PowerPoint.
  4. Edit the slides, then export as editable PowerPoint or PDF.

Alternative: run it with Docker

  1. If you prefer a self-hosted web version, run the Docker command below.
  2. Open http://localhost:5001 in your browser. You can replace 5001 with any port you like.

Docker command

Terminal
docker run -it --name presenton -p 5001:80 -v "./app_data:/app_data" ghcr.io/presenton/presenton:latest

Good to know

Presenton is free and open-source (Apache 2.0). You bring your own AI provider, so generation can cost money through that provider, or you can run everything locally with Ollama or LM Studio for full privacy.

For air-gapped setups, the README shows how to disable the Community gallery with PRESENTON_COMMUNITY_ENABLED=false.
