Repomix

Turn an entire project into a single AI-friendly file, or let Claude Code pack and explore any repo for you with the official plugins.

What it does

Repomix combines all the files in a project into one file that an AI can read in one go, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini. It shows token counts, follows your .gitignore, and leaves out files that look like passwords or keys.

The Claude Code plugins let Claude pack local or GitHub repos itself and answer questions about them.

Install it

  1. Open Claude Code.
  2. Add the Repomix plugin marketplace with the first line below.
  3. Install the plugins you want. repomix-mcp is the recommended base, repomix-commands adds slash commands, and repomix-explorer adds an analysis agent.

Copy this

Claude Code
/plugin marketplace add yamadashy/repomix
/plugin install repomix-mcp@repomix
/plugin install repomix-commands@repomix
/plugin install repomix-explorer@repomix

No Claude Code? Pack a project from the terminal

Terminal
npx repomix@latest

Use it

  1. Type /repomix-commands:pack-local and ask, for example: Pack this project as markdown with compression.
  2. Type /repomix-explorer:explore-remote facebook/react and ask: Show me the main component architecture.
  3. Using the terminal version? It creates repomix-output.xml in your folder. Upload that file to Claude and say: This file contains all the files in the repository combined into one. I want to refactor the code, so please review it first.

Good to know

You can also use it in the browser at repomix.com with no install: enter a repository name and click Pack. Chrome and Firefox extensions add a Repomix button to GitHub pages.
